So what do you all think of this hat? I love the color and its cute but hey -- I'm not real sure I'd be able to keep my head up!!! Lots of weight and I wonder what the thing cost?

Busy Weekend

First -- we try to get a picture of Clayton with this tree every year. Papal & Grandma Spangler bought this when he was born...looks like the tree is taller!!! but not by far.

Friday evening we went to a Jaime Slocum concert (free will offering) -- sorry the pictures aren't very good -- we used Alyssa's camera and it wasn't doing very well with the lighting. We were able to purchase his new CD that is due out until Tuesday!!! Yeah, not too much earlier but we now don't have to wait around. Clayton will sometimes go to his room and sing "VERY LOUDLY" to some of these songs. I really love hearing him sing! My brother-in-law & family ( Wes, Vic & Ryan) went along, as well as a couple friends that the kids invited. Afterwards we went out for pizza and just had a great family time!
We were able to get on the 4th row...so it was a nice time.

Saturday the girls wanted to go to Margeaux's violin recital. Margeaux is the one who has been giving the girls violin lessons for the past 2 years. She is graduating from Susq. University and will be going to grad school - so they will be having a new teacher. She is the sweetest thing and the girls really love her as a teacher. Maybe Alyssa will be able to put a video clip on soon so you can hear how great of a violinist she is.

F-16 Fighting Falcon

The Selinsgrove mall had an F-16 Fighting Falcon on display. Clayton wanted to make sure he got the chance to stop by and check it out. They had a display with a 3 1/2 min. video on all of the things that the air force does. Then they had a video game so that the kids could practice flying and if you were really brave you could try out the defibulator (did I spell that right??) Anyway, Clayton enjoyed the visit!

Easter Sunday

Reeses eggs -- a MUST for me!!!!

Alyssa loves to eat hard peeps. As soon as she gets em she'll open the package and let them sit out for a couple days before she eats em. YUCK!

Steve is in the background -- eating his Reesee peanutbutter egg!!!

My kids got a little bit of candy and then they got several small gifts. The girls received a skirt and scrapbook paper. Clayton wanted some oil paints and paper/brushes and such. We did have an Easter egg hunt. But we do our best to focus on the resurrection instead of the bunny. Throughout the week we went through the "resurrection eggs" (you get a plastic egg with a small item in it along with a scripture verse. Read the verse and the small item in it pertains to that verse. For example....there was small cross, angel, purple robe etc in each egg) Hope you all had a wonderful Easter!

Traveling Meal

This past Saturday our youth group gathered together and went on a Traveling meal. The first stop was in Beavertown at Stevie's house for some "hors doeuvres" that his mom made up for the crew. Next stop - The Maloyds for soup then off to Merle and Melissa's for salad. They then went to Doug and Sarahs for Lasagna and all the goodies to go with the main part of the meal. Last stop was our place for dessert, games and fun.

A crew decided to try the piano out and sing to all of us!!!! Love Julias facial expression!
Cayden came along and had fun watching the volleyball game.
Had a few games of Blockus going -- these were the smarter people who stayed inside where it was warmer!!!

Some decided to try out the tire swing. (yes, that is Alyssa on the tire!)

While lots of em played volleyball.
Once it turned dark they had a game of man hunt outside. Must admit that it was cold and windy yesterday.

Some stayed inside and went to the basement for some air hockey.
We ended the evening with several games of Mafia.....a youth group favorite. If you haven't played this game -- well, lets just say it can get VERY loud but fun.
When they left Clayton made a comment that it was quiet in the house!!! I think we had 16 youth and then the chaps so we did have a good turn out. Lots of games going on and laughs!!! As well as tons of energy -- oh, I wish I had that much energy!

April Fools

In 1957 the jokesters at BBC, ran a segment on the coming of spring after a mild winter and what that meant for Swiss farmers. The answer? An unusually large spaghetti crop. According to the Museum of Hoaxes, "Huge numbers of viewers were taken in. Many called the BBC wanting to know how they could grow their own spaghetti tree. To this the BBC diplomatically replied, 'place a sprig of spaghetti in a tin of tomato sauce and hope for the best.'"

My Dream

Many of you know that at the end of 2008 I mentioned that I was dreaming of doing an online scrapbook store where I would sell project kits. Well my dream is getting closer!!
Above is my logo design and I have a wonderful lady from Treasured Pages setting things up for me. (she is doing the web page as well as the logo that you see above)I now have a good many boxes of items cluttering my basement and I've been spending most of my time trying to get some class creations designed and ready to sale. I've also been working at getting some wonderful ladies to help me create items which will allow a variety of styles to be available in the store.
I hope to have all of this up and running within the next month. It requires a lot of little odds and ends but the Lord has blessed us and He is helping. I don't plan to sell much merchandise....just mainly sell kits that have photos and directions along with all of the products to create mini scrapbook albums and projects. Takes the thinking out of it while the scrapper can copy the directions and have an album ready for photos. However, I do plan to have some merchandise - cardstock and adhesives, tools. But not tons. Hope you all can visit me when we get up and running.
Here is where you will be able to find me: http://www.frostitpink.com/

What a Thought!

Picture can be found here

A friend of mine opened his wife's underwear drawer and picked up a silk paper wrapped package:
'This, - he said - isn't any ordinary package.'He unwrapped the box and stared at both the silk paper and the box.'
She got this the first time we went to New York , 8 or 9 years ago.
She has never put it on, was saving it for a special occasion.
Well, I guess this is it.He got near the bed and placed the gift box next to the other clothing he was taking to the funeral house, his wife had just died.

He turned to me and said:
'Never save something for a special occasion.Every day in your life is a special occasion'.
I still think those words changed my life..
Now I read more and clean less.
I sit on the porch without worrying about anything.
I spend more time with my family, and less at work.I understood that life should be a source of experience to be lived up to, not survived through.
I no longer keep anything.I use crystal glasses every day...
I'll wear new clothes to go to the supermarket, if I feel like it.
I don't save my special perfume for special occasions; I use it whenever I want to.
The words 'Someday...' and ' One Day...' are fading away from my dictionary.
If it's worth seeing, listening or doing, I want to see, listen or do it now...

I don't know what my friend's wife would have done if she knew she wouldn't be there the next morning, this nobody can tell.
I think she might have called her relatives and closest friends.
She might call old friends to make peace over past quarrels.
I'd like to think she would go out for Chinese, her favorite food.
It's these small things that I would regret not doing, if I knew my time had come.
Each day, each hour, each minute, is special.Live for today, for tomorrow is promised to no-one.

One of these days’, remember that 'One day' is far away... or might never come...

Clayton & Alyssa -- Celebration

Clayton knew we were having a party for him -- BUT, Alyssa didn't know that we were going to suprise her at the same time. She had just gone out to feed the dogs when some of her friends arrived, they hid in the room and we snuck her cake out -- here she is when she realizes that the party is for her too.

Gwen did an awesome job on the cakes!!! The kids loved em

Opening Gifts....Steve had cleaned the garage out and we had tables set up out there for games and fun.

Clayton had gotten a "scientific" kit where they hunted for "gems" -- here he is with Weston, Reuben and Zach trying to find the treasures.

Zach, Clayton & Reuben

Erica, Phoebe, Alyssa & Sofia

Some of the crew... They ended up playing man hunt, air hocky and lots of LOUD games!

Johnathan concentrating on "blockus" -- WE had a little calmer games going on inside.

We had right around 40 people show up -- Thanks to all who helped Alyssa and Clayton celebrate their birthdays.
