Gingerbread & More

Alyssa was home this weekend....she had mercy for me and rolled the
oreo truffles plus dipped them for me.  For some reason mine never are as
round and pretty as hers!!!

Countdown activity for the 9th was to play games and enjoy rootbeer floats.
Blokus and Masterpiece were the games....lots of lauging and fun!

And today -- our countdown activity was to decorate our gingerbread houses.
Mine isn't finished because I was busy rolling and cutting dough.....
but you can see all the pretty pink and white above that I plan to use.
Clayton and Shalene seem to agree that this is one of their
favorite countdown activities.
Now we have abouat 20 or more little teacup gingerbread houses to decorate.
Pictures to come.

Journal Your Christmas

I am in the process of my Journal Your Christmas....
this is the beginnings of my daily numbers...
lots of felt and stitching on these this year.
This is my second year to participate in the Journal Your Christmas by
Shimelle....I really love her daily prompts, photo ideas, etc.
She kindda gets me moving in the right direction.
Then she provides a place for everyone to share photos and input on
all that we have created!

This is so awesom!!!! Found this "Fringe" idea here

Its Beginning To Look Alot Like CHRISTMAS

Yes, the elf has been at our house!!!
Wraped these styrofoam tree forms with lace, pom pom trim
and embellies.

Working on my December Daily.....whew...I have a mess on the scrapbook
table....but having fun

Shalene, still dressed in her PJ's trying to get the
tree skirt all rearranged!!!

Christmas Countdown

Our Christmas Countdown for this year is handmade by Melissa ,
she creates for my Scrapbook Store and always comes up with the
most shabby and unique items.  So, she created this
adorable countdown for our household!!!  Each day will have a different
activity......will have to share more photos as we enjoy the countdown!

My First Foodie PenPal

My First Time to Participate in the Foodie Pen Pal...you can find the link
here if you are interested in participating.
Above is the package I mailed....I sent items that were from our local area....chips that are made in the town over....pretzel rolls that are made in town....LOVE THESE.  Local honey and flavored honey sticks, dried apple cips, homemade apple caramels and chocolate dipped potatoe chips from
Ards....and don't forget the deer jerky. (Posted this because my foodie pen pal I sent to doesn't have
a blog to post on)

I received an ethnic themed box from Laura in Las Vegas....(the 2 pics above)
Mexican green apple sodas, Macarons from a local store there...which I must say were marvelous...(I am saving the soda for a special moment. Laura says they taste a bit like jolly ranchers...looking forward to giving this a try, my hubby made sure I knew that when I open them he wants a try)  Rice cakes (Japanese) Ruedas (wheel wheat chips), Mole Sauce and pumpkin Gourd.  I recieved the sweetest letter also, telling me how to prepare each of the items. (which I am ever so thankful for since I have no clue on that issue)   I must say that I am so excited to be able to try these foods....since we live in a
rural area I don't always get to try "different"  ethnic things so this is something that was
right down my ally....THANK YOU SO MUCH LAURA...couldn't have
asked for a better box.

Started Christmas Decorating

Started decorating today.....whew....its a job just
getting organized.  Decided to try something different this year....the
curved top to this little tree.  I do need to string some more cranberries and popcorn for our country
tree yet.  So the family room is all taken care of (I think) 4 more trees to go!!!! Plus lots
of little ones that sit around the house.
Clayton and Shalene have there trees already up (they have had em up for awhile, along with the
Christmas music playing.)  I love to see everything all
decorated for the season.....I just hate knowing that it all has to come down then!!!!
(Oh, if you want more detailed pictures - just click on the photos for a larger view, you can
read the snowman poem then)

Memories

School starts for the kids this coming Tuesday.  Though I enjoyed
the summer, I think I am ready for a schedule around here.  Just
always feel a bit more put together when I have a schedule.
Above photo:  this is something that has been happening a lot around here
lately.....Amanda comes over and they play uno or smores...or something else, you
just never know.  I just enjoy hearing everyone geeting along and having a good time.

So we just really LOVE this thai food fromChantana's Thai..she sets up at the
Hufnagle Park in Lewisburg on Fridays or at the Farmers Market on Wed....
Her Pad Thai is MARVELOUS.....though we have not had this
as often this summer as we would have liked the kids enjoyed some
today.....I did hear a bit of groaning with satisfaction coming
from the back seat....

I have wanted to stop by this field for several years now to snap
a picture and never have done it!!!  FINALLY, I got that done today!!!
So VERY pretty, right outside of Mifflinburg you can find this gorgeous
view....thanks to Shalene for snapping the pics as we pulled to the side of the road!
