BLOG CANDY

OKAY - I am drawing for the blogcandy on Thursday...so for those of you who want a chance see the past post!!!

Company

Sunday Afternoon - Stephanie and Phoebe came over to our house while Clayton went to visit their brother Reuben. So we had 4 girls for the afternoon while Clayton & Reuben went for a hike to the pond and had a blast in the woods. Here the girls are eating fresh pineapple.
Shalene & Stephanie decided to eat outside - still a little chilly out but hey, we have hope. We do have some flowers popping up so that is exciting.
Alyssa & Phoebe--they basically hiked for most of the day. So long that Steve started to wonder about them and went off to find em.
Taking a break - Actually they were sitting here with there shoes off saying they were letting there feet "air out" after the hike. BUT, they wouldn't let me take that picture!!

Just an update -- I have some pictures of a bedroom that is VERY MESSY!!! So if the girl (Alyssa) doesn't get her room cleaned by Friday I am gonna post these pictures!!! It will show you what a wonderful housekeeper she is (GIGGLE - Typical teen I'm sure - however, I'm hoping to get the room cleaned out of this!!!)

MORE PICS!!!!

I didn't think that mom put enough pics up. So I am. lol. She erased the one that I got of Kevin (that probably doesn't mean anything to most of you but theres a couple of people out there that understand), so i couldn't put that one up (obviously, lol). Anyway, Kevin was the bible bearer person.
Jenn and Andrew
This is Andrew escorting Jenn's mother, Sherri. Doesn't it look like their running to the front of the church??? I guess their just ready to get the wedding ceremony over with :)
And the next picture is my personal favorite :) While we were waitin outside for the bride and groom, mom was snappin pictures. She was bein mean and teasin me with this pic, so i decided to put it up. (pray for me, she's gonna kill me, and if she doesn't- dad will)

Congrats to Jen & Andrew!!

Mr. and Mrs.!!! Congrats to Jenn and Andrew whose wedding was today. We wish you the best. Very beautiful wedding.
Can you see the bubbles that are floating around? It was windy out so the bubbles didn't linger but they are there.
Clayton having fun playing with the bubbles. Here he is practicing for when the bride and groom come outside. I think he may have been so busy with practicing that he missed the bride and groom.

Gifts

Today at the wedding one of my best friends was there - with a present for ME!!!! YIPPEE. So for those of you who had not seen my previous post - we painted my kitchen a chocolate and pink and I have a sign above my sink about chocolate. So Lois found me a cute chocolate & pink picture & plate to match!!! This picuture says: Chocolate is best shared with a friend. And the plate below says: A day without chocolate is a day without sunshine!!! You can't tell but the plate is a pale pink trimmed in the chocolate color. Sorry, the sunshine makes it a little hard to see the colors - however, I'm not gonna complain about the sunshine.

We did finish painting my dinning room the same colors and I must say I love it!!! Thanks so much Lois for thinking of me. I love the gifts and they look perfect in my kitchen!!!

Easter Scrapbook Page

Wish I could take credit for this beautiful two page layout but I can't . Andrea , one of the teachers that I work with at the LSS taught this as one of her classes.
This close up shows all the cutting/paper piecing we did - this is "felt paper" so it has a beautiful texture to it. I love it.

Email 50 times a day?

OK - I might be exaggerating (but I may not) on how often this girl has to check her email. WOW!!!! A bit attached!!

Retreat Projects

Okay - so some of you are not scrappers that are checking out this blog!! Sorry, just scroll down farther and you can skip the scappin stuff.
However, if your a scrapper you may want to CHECK OUT THE BLOG CANDY BELOW!!!

Here is some of the pages I accomplished at the Retreat. Now these pages were fun!!!! Lots of cutting out and pop dots -- I used 2 identical papers (one page for the main base paper and one page to use for cutting out the flowers & bird so I could give my page a 3D look. ) As well as cutting out the swirls and lifting them up with pop dots. A bit time consumming but well worth it.

Scrapbook pages

Here is a couple pictures of the scrapbook pages I did at the retreat. I did 46 pages while there. Wish I could have done more but hey - thats 46 pages farther than I was. These are from the New York trip my girls went on.
The lettering is lifted up with pop dots. And I love BLING - so here is a close up so you can see a bit better of what I did on the pages. Wish the pics were a bit clearer but Hey, I did my best.

A Quote to Share

Here is a quote I found that Steve had written down. I'm really not sure where he found it but I wanted to share it with everyone. I've been dwelling a lot on my purpose in life & if I'm doing what God wants....but I've also been thinking that we only live once!!! We MUST make the best of everyday situations and everyday life...especially our family. It is so easy to think that our family/children/companion will always be there. That when I'm not so busy they will be there waiting on me. Until its too late....Children grow up or a loved one passes on. Enjoy your loved ones today!!! Don't wish you would have loved more!

"Life is good,
Because God is Life.
If we could just grasp that
Everyday would be
Much Brighter!"

Enjoying the weather

Today turned out to be a nice day. Chilly but still nice. Alyssa headed off to Penn View to visit today (we have a week off school due to PSSA testing, which Shalene went to Williamsport for on Monday & Tuesday) OK, back to the post -- while Alyssa was away Clayton & Shalene decided to enjoy the weather. Here is Clayton on the tire swing. They spend a good bit of time on this. And Shalene is out by their fort that they have been working on-not finished yet- looks like she is taking a break from everything.

Violin Lessons

For the past school year the girls have attended violin lessons at the SU campus in Selinsgrove. So I drug my camera with me and took some snaps of our EVERDAY LIFE OF THE STAHL FAMILY.
This is a really beautiful campus. Here is one of the buildings we walk past. I must admit that we see some real winners of outfits while on campus.

Here they are at the music building. The girls "pretend" to grumble about going to lessons BUT their teacher is wonderful. Her name is Margeaux (see previous post with her in concert). She is such a sweet girl and Alyssa & Shalene have learned a tremendous amount this year.

This is the famous spot that we sit and wait it out. Each girl has a 1/2 hour lesson so we take the laptops, books, school work, ninetendo, etc. to keep us occupied while waiting for each one. However, like I said above, we are sometimes entertained just by watching the students. By all that I've seen the students appear to be respectful.

Steve - Hard at Work

One of the perks of Steve being self employed is that he sometimes brings his work home with him. Here he is working on making a "step up" / check out area for the registers at Cole's Hardware (they are putting a new one in at Middleburg!)

It's nice to have him working at home -- Clayton can be a helper and work with dad...and me ...........well, I can always say "Ask Dad!!"

Blog Candy

OK Scrappers - another chance for you to win.
You have your choice between these two goodies. First we have a scrappers mix of items: buttons, paper flowers, fibers, adhesive & stickers. OR you can choose the stamp set from stampin up. I will draw a name next Thursday, April 10th to see who is the winner. When you post a reply to this just tell me what your favorite adhesive is!!!! Thats all - I'll then print out the responses and have Clayton draw a name!!!! That easy. Good luck.

Weekend Scrapbook Retreat

Here is a pictures of the "cabin" that our scrapbook retreat was held at. Talk about beautiful. It had 3 levels. First level we had our scrappers room and a small kitchen. Second level was the kitchen and dining area along with the living room area (picture below) and a couple bedrooms. The upper level had 3 large rooms full of bunks and a regular bedroom as well. Along with a little loft that had a place for 3 mattresses or so. There was also a swap table - on this table you could put unwanted items....you bought something and didn't use or used some...I got some really great stuff on this table -- paper sets, embellishments and stamps were all there!!

I was in the non snoring room -- HOWEVER, I'm not sure if everyone realized what non-snoring meant (although some of the ladies "filled in" for some that could not come and had to take the bed that was available) BUT!!!!! I am planning to invest in a pair of earplugs for future trips.
The view from the cabin. It was very beautiful. A water wheel which you can't see and 4 wheeler trails (which we didn't use - giggle) but a wonderful place to go away and rest.
Here are the goodie bags that each one got. Full of snacks and scrappers goodies...paper, adhesive and embellishments. Along with that we each went home with a door prize and many wonderful memories. (posted by Amy)

Retreat Friends

Here is a picture of the ladies working. Now this retreat started Friday at 5:00 and ended Sunday at 2:00. We had WONDERFUL meals provided and many snacks(each brought a snack to share so 30 plus ladies make for a lot of good snacks). Many stayed up until 2:00 or 4:00 a.m. and woke early - 6:00 or so - to get back at it. We had our fashion show on Sat. evening (pictures below) and a church service Sunday morning, but other than that (well we did take time out to eat the wonderful food, and I am not exaggerating on that) we scrapped the rest of the time.
Tammy along with Terri's daughter keeping the store in working order. This was great, while scrapping we could go over and get our matching cardstock or embellishment if we needed something. This is Amy and below is Andrea and Carole - these ladies shared the same table that I worked at. So I was able to hear many stories of these ladies and their families.
I was able to see many I knew from the store but then I met many new ladies as well. There is just something about scrapbooking. Each one was working on their own project / family memories, but we all had something in common - which gave us something to visit about. We were able to share our lives by showing pictures of our family to those we just met. It kindda makes you feel like you have a Huge scrapbook family.

*********Now, I realize that some of you are sick of my Scrapbook Retreat and seeing the pictures...sorry to you....HOWEVER, there are may of my scrapaholic friends that wanted me to post this information so for those ladies I am sharing my trip.
I do want to thank my wonderful hubby who gave me this trip as my birthday gift. It was an awesome trip and I would love to do it again!!!

RETREAT FASHION SHOW

Well, I had tons of pics of the fashion show but I'm only gonna share two -- Notice the picture above: Terri is wearing a "ball gown" with a "plunrging neckline" and "spaghetti staps" she also has a "pill bottle hat" and "14 carrot gold bracelet". The top picture Tammy wears a "newsprint vest" and a "100 % cotton skirt". There were many others that were VERY funny. Sorry that these pictures are so blurry.
Tammy and Terri, the ladies above, are the owners of the LSS and are Wonderful women to work for. I could never ask for a better job or better ladies to work for. They truly put others before themselves and go out of the way for others. It has been an honor to work for these women.
And to all my fellow scrappers -- I hope to post of few of my pages that I did this past weekend along with a bit of blog candy in the near future so keeping checking in.
